Brand your clients' experience
Put your MSP's name, logo, and support contact on the reports, emails, learner pages, and certificates your clients see.
Branding lets your clients see your MSP, not just Hook, in the parts of the product they use. You set it up once in MSP settings, and every client organization under your MSP picks it up.
Branding is not white labeling. Every web address, link, and sending address stays Hook's, so mail keeps reaching your clients' inboxes and the links in it keep working. Where a client can see a Hook address, a short line tells them Hook delivers the email or page for you.
What your clients see
Once your brand has a logo or a display name, your clients see it in these places:
- Reports. Report PDFs carry your logo and name instead of Hook's, whether an admin downloads them, emails them, or schedules them. The emails that deliver reports use your logo and accent color.
- Training emails. Assignment, reminder, completion, and weekly summary emails show your logo, use your accent color for their buttons, and name your MSP as the sender. The sending address is still Hook's, and each email ends with a line saying Hook delivers it for you.
- The learner portal. Learners see your logo in the portal, and the browser tab names your MSP.
- Certificates. Completion certificates say they are issued by your MSP and show your logo. They carry no Hook mark.
- The org portal. Your client's admins see your MSP listed as the company that manages their account, beneath the Hook logo. Admin invitations to your clients name your MSP.
Your own MSP portal, and anything Hook sends to you as an MSP, stays Hook branded.
A client can also have a brand of its own. Once Hook turns organization branding on for a client, its admins (or you, from inside its account) can set up a brand that its employees see on training emails, the learner portal, and certificates in place of yours. Its reports and org portal keep your brand, and its admins still see your MSP as the company that manages their account. If the client doesn't route support to itself, its employees keep reaching your support contact. See Brand your employees' training.
Training emails need full migration
Branding reaches the training emails Hook sends itself. A client whose training hasn't moved to Hook yet keeps getting its training emails from the previous system, unbranded, until it is migrated. See Full migration.
Set up your brand
Open Settings in the MSP sidebar and choose Branding. If you don't see it, ask Hook support to turn branding on for your MSP.
Upload your logo as a PNG or JPEG. A wide logo on a transparent or white background works best. Hook resizes it for you.
Add a display name if you want something other than your organization's name, and pick an accent color. Text on the accent color is adjusted so it stays readable.
Check the preview of an email header and a report header, then save.
A change applies to everything sent or generated after you save. Emails that already went out and PDFs that were already downloaded keep what they had.
A brand needs a logo or a display name to show up anywhere. An accent color or a support contact on its own leaves your clients seeing Hook.
To go back to Hook branding, use the reset option on the same page. Reset clears your name, logo, color, and support contact. It doesn't change your sub-MSP settings.
Route support to your MSP
By default your clients' people contact Hook for help. Turn on support routing to have them contact you instead. Routing needs a support email; you can also add a support web address and a phone number.
While routing is on:
- Training emails tell learners to contact your MSP with questions.
- Help and support links in the learner portal go to your support contact.
- Your client's admins find your contact details on their Support page, and the Hook chat is hidden for them.
- Wording in the org portal that sends an admin to Hook support names your MSP instead.
With routing off, your brand still shows, and your clients' questions still go to Hook.
Brands for sub-MSPs
If your MSP has its own sub-MSPs, each sub-MSP chooses which brand its clients see:
- Own: the sub-MSP's own brand. This is the default. A sub-MSP that hasn't set up a brand shows Hook.
- Parent's: your brand, as your clients see it.
- Hook default: Hook's branding, whatever either of you has set up.
The support contact always comes from the MSP whose brand is shown, so a client never sees one company's logo with another company's support details.
As the parent, you can set a sub-MSP's choice for it. Switch into the sub-MSP's view, open Settings, and choose Branding. You can also lock the sub-MSP to your brand. While it is locked, the sub-MSP sees the choice but can't change it. A lock only applies while the sub-MSP is under your MSP.
You can also set up a sub-MSP's own brand for it. Once Hook has turned branding on for the sub-MSP, the same Branding page in its view lets you edit its logo, display name, accent color, and support contact. Saving there changes the sub-MSP's brand, not yours.
Turning branding off
Hook can turn branding off for an MSP. Your clients then see Hook again everywhere, and your saved brand is kept, so turning it back on restores it as it was.
